It was more the shape. It wanted to perch you right on the end. It seems to of much improved over the last hundred miles, as the foam has broken in. I don't really notice it now. I'm not that heavy, and only have a skinny arse. Probably doesn't help!

The parts are available on all of the Italian scooters at AF1racing.com. There are tons of aftermarket parts also. Some parts that aren't consumables might take a week or so. I'm partial to the Italian scoots but all of them but the chinese are good options it's all about what fits you best.

I guess I'm getting the Liberty, it just seems like the right kind of bike for a seven and a half mile stretch commute from and to work and for light shopping, it seems to also have more in terms of accessories than the SR50/Typhoon.

Piaggio do the optional 33 litre box for the back. It's worth getting if you are going to carry stuff to work/shopping. I think it has limited Storage under the seat, so worth having. I have a 30 litre box on the typhoon. It's surprising what you can fit inside. A full face helmet and glovex will easily fit side, by side.

So after a few emails here and there and looking up inventory it appears my options are more limited than I thought.
The only bikes available locally are:
2020 Vespa Primavera (White) 2020 Vespa Primavera Touring (Green) 2020 Vespa Sprint (Black) 2020 Honda Metropolitan (Beige)
And a selection of Ice Bear and Wolf Brand scooters.
So there goes the Liberty 50 option lol.

They're all 50s The Primavera and Sprint before had 150/200cc variants, they just ended up including the Liberty 50's engine in the two Vespa models as well for their 50cc variants.

I would probably go with a vespa. More money, but better brakes, and more room. They do a Malossi module that plugs in taking the top speed up to about 45mph too.

I do hear the Piaggio malosi engines are super reliable, as good as Honda even. I am thinking of getting them since they're such superb quality... and a metal monocoque body and chassis?

The difference between a Ruckus and any other scooter is huge. You ride right down on the ground. without a big box on the back not much room. As another note you can get a Vespa dealer to get any scooter you want, they just need to order it. I have a woman here that wanted a limited model and called corporate and the found one and sent it to the local dealer.

The funny part about that is that I can't find the Vespa dealership locator on this store. They're just an authorized dealer as an affiliate vendor, alas they sold the last two Piaggio Liberty 50s to an Indiana Vespa dealership lmfao. So I'm not sure how much purchasing power they have with Vespa/Piaggio. I know the Vespa in Cincinnati is the closest one and is under Metro Scooters.

I remember in one of the recent Vespa motorsport videos. Robot was saying about Vespa doing a nationwide delivery charge. It was quite cheap. And the same for someone living down the road, as 1500 miles away. I wonder if Piaggio do the same, as it's the same company.
