I removed the Variator spacer, goes 40mph+. Should I also remove the Exhaust restrictor; anything more to gain?

If you have the stock exhaust yes remove the restrictor you will have more power top to bottom . Better yet upgrade the exhaust and get more top speed and power .

It does 40+ now. If I remove the exhaust restrictor, it gains acceleration throughout and maybe a little on top? New exhaust gains what more?

Thanks for posting, appreciate the link. I'm subscribed to his channel, good stuff. I however already removed the spacer, and he mentions nothing of removing the exhaust restrictor.

It does 40+ now. If I remove the exhaust restrictor, it gains acceleration throughout and maybe a little on top? New exhaust gains what more? 3-5 mph on the top end . Depending on pipe since you will rev out farther with power . You may need to go lighter on the weights a half gram or so less works well with the street style pipes you may need even lighter weight if you go with a expansion pipes . popping wheelies on low end if you want . Just need to reset the trans for the change in where the power band starts Medium strength springs work pretty well with most pipes

if the exhaust restrictor is removed (stock pipe), must I also rejet? I'm hoping not. Although, I'm concerned with running lean, starving for oil, etc due to this exhaust mod. I admit, I may be worrying about something that will not occur. I'm looking for someone that can advise for certain before I pull out the Dermal.
Thank you!

If you never run wide open then No Upjetting falls in the better safe than sorry category and jets are cheaper than a engine If you run wide open for miles then You will need a larger main jet . I did up jet with removing the restrictor from stock scooter . I used and still do use a Mikuni size 70-72 77 was a notch too rich and would foul plugs They worked well when I upgraded to next level street pipe I bought mine from jetsrus mikun vw 11-22 style They also are available on Amazon from Glixal www.amazon.com/Glixal-1PE40QMB-Scooter-Carburetor-Mikuni/dp/B06XHY4Y9H/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=mikuni+jets+glixal&qid=1610411218&sr=8-1The extra rpms and extra flow from the pipe need a notch more fuel Very important to check for a good seal after reinstalling the exhaust . With the scooter running take a gloved hand and wet rag and plug the exhaust if it kills quick your good . If it keeps running you are not sealed up
