Nice project scoot. Chinese scoots may not be the best, but I'll probably always be partial to Vento Tritons.

Never too many. What's the plan for it? The plan is to resell it for funds for an sr50. may need a bottom end rebuild. also any tips on cleaning aluminium oxidation? *pic included* **PS** if anyone is wondering the variator came off fine

I have used scotch pad, wire wool, and aluminium polish before. Never that bad though. 😲

hey , when I was recently de-rusting my vise I saw where some guys used oven cleaner so I tried it and it worked like a charm ; wasn't aluminum though and wasn't oxidation but I bet it will clean that up lickety split . don't know about different brands of oven cleaner- can't remember the name .

Thank you but I just hit it with a air compressor and then liquid wrench. cleaned it up nicely... probably will hit it with a pressure washer though
