Hello everyone. Im looking for my first scooter to make store runs with my daughter. So I have 3 picks but its so hard finding reviews or any info from other owners. Here is my list so far. Out the door prices ICE BEAR HAWKEYE (PMZ150-3C) 150CC 1199.00 3 mo warranty 2019 BINTELLI BOLT 150 1800.00 1yr warranty 2021 LANCE POWERSPORTS PCH 200I 2900.00 169cc FI motor 2yr warranty The Lance is only a option if everyone says the other 2 are junk. I don't see alot of bad things about the Icebear and read its made in one of the better China factories. I want to make sure I have a 12 or 13" wheel, 150cc so I can drive on main 55mph rds and hold upto 330lbs Im trying to stay around 2000.00 but the Lance does make it worth the extra money with the FI motor and 2yr warranty and Combined Braking System. I would love to hear from anyone that has bought a IceBear or the other two.

I had a Lance PCH 150 and put 10,000 miles on it. Carbureted version and it was absolutely bulletproof. It never let me down once. I changed the oil often and kept meticulous maintenance on it. Bought new tires but it never even needed brake pads by the time I sold it. Bought it used with 2800 miles for $1200. Had to tune the carb and variator to my preference and it would hit 60+ mph consistently, about 80 mpg in mixed riding.

Welcome to the forum. I don't really know much about those scooters, but I'm sure others will. Have you also considered perhaps buying a used more quality brand for that price. Something from Yamaha, Honda, Piaggio might give you better reliability in the long run.

Lance scooter models are now made by SYM, plenty of quality straight from Taiwan. I've owned 3 Japanese scooters and 5 different SYM scooters, quality and materials used are similar. Some Japanese scooters are built in Thailand and other countries these days...

I did find a Lance 150 on craigslist for $1000. Looks like it’s in really good shape I’m just waiting to hear from him to see if it’s the fuel injected model. As for finding a more name brand scooter on craigslist it’s almost impossible people are asking over $3000 and a lot of them have 10,000 miles or more. I’m not going to do the ice bear because it sounds like a lot of people have issues with the shipping and the scooters come damaged. I looked up all the places that will ship a ice bear and they all have very poor rating with the Better Business Bureau.

Lance 200i is fuel injected, 150 has a carb.
Similar to the Kymco 200i models the actual displacement is 169cc's, and except for slightly better fuel economy the performance doesn't change much.

My opinion, the Yamaha Vino 125 and Zuma 125 are absolutely great starter bikes. Vino has 10 inch tires, did damn near 60 with my 190 pound ass on it. Bulletproof, never let me down. You find a good clean one for the 1200 to 1600 range, you'll be set for 10k+ miles. Zuma 125s are fuel injected, i love mine. Bigger tires, around the same top speed. Brakes are great, rides so smooth, great gas mileage, handles awesome, it can do most everything imo. Mines a 2013 and thats the year id recommend. Vinos are mid 2000s, mine was an 07, but id recommend an 09 or later. No warranty from second hand buyers, but youll hardly need it. Japanese quality. The Lance is good, but for that price, id look for a used vespa gts. 250, or 300. My sis just got an Icebear vision 150, im shocked with how good it is, but its still Chinese. If you wanna tinker and learn, china bikes are great. If not, Honda or yamaha all the way. Elite 250, Helix, Elite 150s, Yamaha Rivas, all better than even most new Chinese bikes

From all the research that I’ve done the ice bear is definitely bottom grade and the Lance is mid grade. I think I’m gonna hold off a bit longer and see if I can find a more name brand. If not then maybe in spring I’ll go get that Lance with the fuel injected motor. Thanks everyone for your help. And if anyone reads this you can kind of see my budget and if you have any recommendations I’m still open.

The Lance/SYM scooters are excellent. Just make sure to change the oil per the owner’s manual.
Kymco make excellent bikes as well. The Like 150/200i is a great bike (maybe my favorite).
Genuine makes several in the class as well - Buddy, Kick and Hooligan. Snappy little bikes.
Don’t be afraid to buy new-old stock. Often there are bikes a few years old that just haven’t sold. Good discounts to be had.
