im nthinking of getting a 38mm Lectron flat slide for my parmakit 154cc vespa build. i like the idea of variable jetting. but they are some expensive carbs. and i havent seen or heard of any one running one. any forum members with input on these fancy carbs? thanks

They're probably a niche product, very effective in only one maybe two types of motorsports, probably dragracing and hill climbers? Don't actually know how much they are really an upgrade on a street machine or a dirtbike. And is the variable jetting thing a Pro or more of a gimmick (to us, generic scooter people)?

I've seen a few people out here running those carbs on big stroker motors like 120 C c's in up don't think they went as big as your thinking pretty sure they were using the 30 mm version but they sure as hell look great and from what I have gathered work as advertised want you dial them in you're pretty much good to go I don't know if there is a power gain to be had other than the fact that you might be able to have your jetting a little bit leaner than you would otherwise out of caution

thanks for the input. i liked the idea of keeping out of the lean zone with this build. its going to be the most expensive one ive done to date on a scooter. its my 1965 vespa smallframe vma1t 125. 55bore 51 stroke 4.8hp stock i have a parmakit red devil W force 144 (60mm bore) and a bmg 54mm full cheek crank with a 105 con rod. the cylinder is good for 25-30hp... lol parmakit recommends a 32-40mm carb. i ended up getting this new 38mm lectron carb for less than half price. it was for a ktm 125. the one thing ive read is while you dont need a bunch of gets, you might need a couple metering rods to get it dialed in. at 40$ each i hope i work things out quickly.. ill report back with my review when its running. right now im working on cases to accept the huge cylinder. im taking pics and will be addingf to my build thread as i go. so wish me luck! lol...
