Just got my new Performance Variator for a Honda Vario 150cc (GY6 engine).
The variator includes Pulley and driveface, both 13.5 degree angle. The drive boss, the sliding plate and 6 x 12g rollers. My stock variator has 15g rollers, and when I tried the new performance variator set, the performance was increased but not that much from the stock variator. The acceleration is almost the same but the mid torque have increase that much. It can also do 115kph which is less from the stock, which is 118kph. Any suggestion on what roller weights I need to put in the performance variator? I want to have more acceleration especially in hill climbs, and I know tuning the rollers would help. I read an article to use a tachometer but there is no available in our market, so the other option is to use "feel" tuning on the rpm, which I don't have any experience what so ever.
I am 90kg by the way.

Watch the videos on CVT tuning here.
You will need a tach. They are available on eBay and Amazon. The seat of the pants dyno method is notoriously inaccurate.

You should invest in a roller tuning kit before anything. Find out what is the best weight for you that gives you most acceleration while having highest top speed.
