Hi,
I am currently building up a Piaggio zip with a Stage 6 R/T 70cc race head. I have some idea of what i need to gain the most power but wondered if anyone else on here had some knowledge of building one of these up?
What squish size did you run ? What exhaust was best ? Recommended carb size 25mm or larger ?
Your knowledge would be much appreciated.
Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. That's a serious kit. I'm guessing something like the stage 6 R1400 or Yasuni C30 would work best. The advantage of the stage 6 pipe is you wouldn't have to modify the exhaust mount to fit it.I You can download the fitting instructions here. www.pedparts.co.uk/product/1538/stage6-rt-70cc-racing-team-cylinder-piaggioI don't think the American market got the zip. And that's where most of the forum members are based.

Did you think of the crank? It will grenade to the moon after one blip of the throttle if you don't upgrade that too.

Hi, Sorry for late reply I didnt think anyone was gona answer 😆 yea serious bit of kit wasnt planned to be but got carried away.
Well before I see these comments I already purchased some second hand bits to test. I was advised r1400 but they come at rediculous price and see that the italians run the MHR Team exhaust so I have one of them to play with at the moment. 25mm delorto from what I have read up on there is not much of a performance increase beyond 25mm. Although I do prefer the 28mm PWK so may have to get hold of one. Anyone have a clue of where to start jetting wise ?
Stage 6 ignition is going on as they adjust the spark timing best to suit the R/T head.
As stated above the the R/T head only runs on a 85mm conrod due to the mounted plate so the crank has been upgraged to a TPR race crank.
Stage 6 clutch and bell, malossi variator. Malossi or Polini gearbox I have both so will decide when building it. The Polini is geared alot longer so may use this as it will probably be a bit lively otherwise.

Anyone have a clue of where to start jetting wise ? I'd start by buying 130-140-150 and try 150 first. I recon you'll end up somewhere in that region. I am assuming you can buy your jets separately at your local dirtbike/mx shop? If not, you're bound to those pre selected jet kits, which I hate because you'll always end up having to buy way more than you'll need.
