Hi all,
Quick question. I am building a 52mm kit with a big valve head and an A9 cam. The rings that came with it are gapped at .008 for the top and 2nd ring. The .008 measures ok for the top but I read that the 2nd ring should be larger. Instead of using .004 I read that it should be bore times .005 or .006 that makes the 2nd ring to be .011 or .012
Question is should I keep it as it came .008 or go larger. Let me know. Thank you
Carb and exhaust are going to be much larger too, like a 24mm carb and open exhaust.

I forgot about Brent's calculators section. I did use and and set the rings to .008 top and .010 2nd. Any other advise for set up or tuning, let me know as I do read all responses.
For this build: Dr. pulley clutch, 52mm BVH kit, A9 cam, Large performance carb, Sliders for tuning. Carb wise I have a choice of trying 28mm flat slide carb, 30mm flat slide, 24mm CVK carb (standard 150cc carb), stock pd18,
Will be going thru my carb pile to see what else. I have a parts hording problem.
