Update: Replaced the fork oil, the stuff in there was pretty grimy. I flushed the forks with fresh oil a couple of times. I bought a litre of it and only really needed about 90ml. So I was pretty liberal with the flushes. After about 3 flushes the oil ran clear and let it drain. I refilled 35ml in each fork. I may add a little more if I need later. Also my tire arrived and I had it installed. This process kind of messed up the paint, but I will fix it later. Definitely I would wait for the tire to be on to paint it if I were to do this again. Now I have put everything back on the front and took it for a spin around the parking lot. The handling feels good, more responsive than the michelin reggaes I had on before. The forks also feel good although I can bottom them out fairly easily. I don’t remember if this was the case with the old oil or with the c3 forks I may add some more oil and see what happens. Also I could go back to the zuma springs. I can confirm that the speedometer works and seems accurate. Overall good news

At some point I will have a bracket for the caliper made up, but before that I am looking at the brake line routing. The c3 routes the front brake cable and speedometer cable on the left side of the bike and ahead of the front forks. There is a bent wire that is held on to the yoke with a screw that helps route these. The new set up I am working on has the speedometer on the right hand side and the brake line routed behind the forks on the left. Soooo, I took the bent wire routing thing off, flipped it over and screwed it back in. And it worked, no clearance issues and puts the brake line right where it should be.

Fork oil levels are something that's easy to play around with. And quite cheap too. You could also try a heavier grade of oil. Well worth spending the time to get it right. Especially with that great brake setup.

dang, this is gonna be pretty amazing! Love the brake treatment (I really love brakes...) and hope this will be "one-finger" easy modulation. and smart tires too!
I really like Cubed, C3, or Q*bert scoots! btw, what's the official name again from Yamaha?

I think in the U.S. It's called the C3. Over here the cube. Really rare over here, as it was more money than an Aerox when new. Only ever seen two on the road.

I am in Canada and I have only seen a handful of them on the road. I think they were very unpopular, I kind of get it, but I love the look. I think you’re supposed to call it c-cubed (c^3). I think that’s kind of silly so I call it a C3 (sea three). When I order parts at the dealership we both call it C3. It is what people want to say when they read C3.

With respect to the brake feel or 1 finger modulation, I will take what I can get. I am really flying by the seat of my pants here and to be honest really doing this mod for style. I would define this project to be a success if the bike looks good and still drives well enough to commute. I’ll let you know how it goes, wish me luck.

It’s also called the Giggle or the Vox depending on where you are.

Ok after some delays I have made the bracket (mostly). I made it out of 1/2 inch thick aluminum and it seems really strong. I have lined it up on the scooter before I drill the last hole just to make sure everything is in the right place. I will drill and tap the last hole this weekend and bolt it all up. Almost there.

Last hole is drilled and the brake line connected, next step fluid.
