I'm glad she's okay!
This is what I tell people is my worst fear when riding. Dogs and other small animals walking out in front of me. It's bad enough during the day, but that's one of the reasons why I don't ride at nights, either. They step out in front of you and you can't see them. BAM! Too many stray dogs and cats around here that can be a problem.

Well...she has decided that the accident was nothing she caused, and will ride the scooter again. I told her that dogs running in front of you and causing a crash is ns not forseeable, and are just freak accidents than, in most cases, cannot be avoided. She is still among the ranks of the 2wheeled.

Glad shes will be ok... Animals are the worst to hit. At least a pothole stays put and you can kinda get ready for it. A dog, or other small animal goes in all different ways, usually leaving us all twisted up on the road. Not her fault at all. The best riders would be picking themselves up. Glad it wasnt a deer! I used to swerve and or hit the brakes hard to miss squirrels. Ive almost went down just trying to miss em. Not anymore. Now i just ride and if i run em over? They lost that round. I swear they make a game of it anyway?.. Like on that commercial. I like animals of all shapes and sizes. Im just not gonna be the one laying in the road over a squirrel while its laughing at me on the side.

I told my daughter if she gets herself the pink scooter she needed a good helmet, and an armored jacket, because "when" she went down it would hurt less. It's not an if thing. She thought I was being negative, just being real. Glad she's going to be ok. Even a slow wipe out can hurt pretty good.

It must be an age thing i have photos of me as a teenager doing jumps on my motox bike not even a helmet on. Now i always wear a bike jacket motorcycle boots and gloves and when i see the kids where i live riding round in shorts and tshirts in the summer just makes me cringe. Two years ago i fell off my mountain bike on ice riding back from the gym and broke my arm and dislocated my elbow doing 10 mph if i was on the scooter i would of been ok. You can never be too carefull

I am glad she will be OK and will ride again. I have had many years and many miles riding with my daughter on our motorcycles. She learned to drive at 12 and grew up riding ATVs and driving Jeeps. When she got her motorcycle I paid for the MSF course.
