Well the ET4 125 arrived about an hour ago with the courier, felt like unwrapping a present Bette than I thought body wise. No dreaded rust underneath. Ignition lock assy needs replacing as in bits and last owner said it appeared mangled on the frame by previous owner will look tomorrow when get panels off now on the ramp if garage not fully flooded out. Also needs seat lock assy, and with no keys a imobiliser bypass unit.

That looks good from the pictures. Makes a change for an unseen scoot. Looks better in the flesh than the pictures he sent me . Bit of work to do but was expected after 2or3 yrs standing.

Good find Milly. Vespas are always a crap shoot, it's the hidden stuff that will get you.

Well bit flooded in garage today but my stuff in relative dry at present. Got on with the ignition lock that had been butchered and saved a few quid in parts. Mate welded the hacked off bit back on. Put new valve in tyre after popping it off the rim and rubbing down the inside walls of it rim as well to seal the air leaks on the sidewalls. Ordered up a few parts off ebay, bypass imobilser/cdi unit and a couple of parts from Greece from a chap I used for yrs as all original parts and cheap but not now after U.K. left the E.U. forgot about the tax and duty on ebay bit of a shock but there we are. Tomorrows job drain the old petrol and new tap I had sitting around and see why no spark.

Those fork locks hold really well. You've made good work of it.

Today I found a set of new disc pads after ordering some online. Poop! Fitted them and unseized the caliper, put wheel on as no leaks from tyre, changed fuel tap and removed old petrol after finding the new fuel tap. Found a dreaded hole underneath the body not as much as the last time but will get my mate to weld it after my last amazing atempt which some of you may remember Found a coil and lead but still no spark but maybe down to not having keys and imobiliser not allowing it to fire up.

good progress. There is a relay on these for the kill switch that can go bad and prevent the spark but my guess would be the immobilizer.

OK tomorrow I shall tackle the dreaded rust myself with advice from the mechanic. Need to relearn sometime even if I never need to do it again.☺️

^^ Eeeek, rust. At least we don't see that here... We don't know what that is.. Heh You don't know how lucky you are. And that's a good one! When you watch these videos and they come from Australia or the warmer States in the U.S. And they are struggling to remove bolts. It's comical. You try it with 10 years of corrosion on top.

After poking and prodding the hole it is not got any bigger so for now I have taken the floor pan off and treated with kurust to stop anymore happening and am going to do a temporary fix as it is not a stress bearing panel and treat it will filler or bondo as those of you across the pond call it while I look into more work self-employed as earning £600 a month after fuel not taking into account the wear and tear on motor and my other halfs work doing transcription from home I need to take the load off her as she is starting to suffer with her long term disability again and don't want end up with her back in a wheelchair again like she was 10yrs ago and with me in charge of it. Very independent is Yolanda and very shouty when not.☺️ I can fully understand to. My kids always say I am like a caged animal when not doing. Sometimes things have to change and now is that time. Here in little Britain I will get a state pension in approximately 2yrs or a bit less not sure how much that is but lucky I do other countries don't have such luxuries. Would have been sooner but they changed mine from retiring at 65yrs to 66 1/4 yrs. Younger people have to work longer. Cars done me well and that needs changing soon makes a change as they usually gets trashed within 2yrs with me even my mechanic is impressed that it has lasted so long. Hmmmm went a bit off there at a tangent from scooter.

Good to get it off your chest Milly. I will retire at age 67. My sister who is two years older 68! It's mad when you think wife's mum retired at 60. Wife will be 67 years old.
