Ok, I have a 49cc 2018 taotao blade 50 that I have been customizing for a little under a year. I bought it from a friend and he bought it brand new last year with his first stimulus. Ok I have bored it over to 100cc, 50mm cylinder with 69mm valves and head, trikmal high performance camshaft, I have replaced the stator, voltage regulator, starter and starter bendix, cdi box, variator and rollers, intake manifold, new pucky 19mm upgraded big bore carb with jet upgrades, cold air filter, ignition coil, spark plug, new battery, and aftermarket exhaust. It has almost 5000 km, but I rebuilt the engine with 100cc big bore at 4830 km so it's not even broke in. I have been wanting something bigger that I'm able to travel on interstate with. I found someone that is wanting to trade me out straight up for a 2006 diamo tracer 250cc, looks in good shape and they said they have kept it inside in this cold weather. Just bought it before it got cold, and it will start and run. But it needs a battery, he said a 40 dollar carb, and the brakes checked out. I have a battery I think, and can get brakes that's not a problem I dont think. But I'm wanting to know if it would be worth it for me to trade? I haven't been able to find much information on that model diamo, only thing was a little information on bikez.com. would it be hard to find parts if I needed them, i know they're not as customizable as the one i have, but how hard would it be to get something if a part went out and I needed to get one? Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I think that you may have answers your own question "I haven't been able to find much information on that model diamo, only thing was a little information on bikez.com." What I saw they only imported them for 2 years. The engine looks like it might be a VOG clone so those parts shouldn't be too hard to get. Partsforscooters has a nice inventory. If it isn't running I would be very cautious with it. My first big scooter was a Rocket MC54-b with the same engine. It was a big heavy rattle trap. It rode okay but at speed I was always afraid that the panels would blow off.

Welcome to the forum. If it's not running, and only needs a carb. Why isn't it fixed? The market is full of bikes that are easy fixes. Buyer beware.

If you want the scoot I would buy it out right. I wouldn't pay over $250 for it but that's usually my starting offer.

Well he said it will start up and run. He wants to trade down for a smaller one because he doesn't have a motorcycle license. And he said something about a piece on the carb was missing. I am going to set up a time to meet so I can look at it in person and see exactly what hes talking about. Thanks everyone. I appreciate the advice, I was just trying to make sure I dont end up with something I couldn't find any parts for. Thanks again and I'm happy to be a member of this forum and site. Thank you guys

The scooters I have purchased that were "should be an easy fix" were never that. If it isn't running right then price should reflect worse case scenario.
some examples: "blows fuses, should be easy fix" but actually has a blown piston and cylinder.
"has new carb but won't start" and has been home to mice that ate everything and as a result of the guy trying to start it while mouse nests locked the CVT, the starter clutch broke.
you get the picture...
But if you want it, projects can be fun!

Any info would be greatly appreciated, thanks. Just food for thought: A 50mm kit will net you a displacement of 81cc's. There are no true 100+cc kits for the QMB139 engine. The best you can do is just shy of 95cc with a 52.4mm Naraku kit combined with a SSP-G stroker crank. Anyone saying or marketing any different is lying. On to the Diamo. Generally Diamo used CN250 style engines on these, which is a Chinese copy of the old Honda Helix engine. Sometimes however also ran the VOG 260 engine, which is a Yamaha design and also... pretty good. We try to keep a fair amount in stock for these engines, and here's a couple of links to get you started. (thanks pinkscoot) If you can't find something you need, just ask. Matt, you are a wealth of information. If you carried more Vespa/Piaggio parts you would be my go too supplier.

Nailing down the suppliers of those while also getting the correct margins for our dealers is not as easy as I would like it to be unfortunately. Matt

Yeah, I knew that it didn't quite equal up to 100, that's just the kit that I have on it. And I'm leery of the diamo and kinda wanna just keep mine, I just got it running and driving damn good, after many many nights of busting knuckles and rolling in the dirt, it is finally where I have been wanting it. It starts, no problem, I went out at 530 the other morning in 20 degree or lower weather with a foot and a half of snow on the ground and it was started before I got the key into the ignition LMAO. I found another one that's a 250 right here in town a couple blocks away that I know runs, it's almost brand new and I know the guy wanting to sell it.. he told me 350 and its mine. But I could probably tell him I have 275 cash and he will be signing title over. 350 is what I paid for mine, and it wasn't even about 2 months old. I was with the guy when he bought it new, and it's a 2018

There is a thread somewhere in this forum where people posted these kinds of ads. Sadly, some of them posted links to the original ad on craig's list or elsewhere without copying the content, and the ads are (of course) no longer there. But yes, projects can be fun!!!
