Links worked for me. I right-clicked to open in a new tab, and got images of a VERY worn out variator.
You got your moneys worth out of that, so replacing with some unworn parts should have made a big difference. I have not seen any worn that much previously. Glad to hear it helped with the performance problem. Now you won't have to work your little engine so hard to get some results. It will be happier, though not likely to let on, it will be a long term thing, hopefully. tom

Damn, did you have the plastic guides on the spider plate and if so I assume they were worn down to nothing? I guess the plate was so displaced that it was rubbing on the ramps?

Believe it or not the guides were in place and not worn. It didn't catch my eye on the first inspection.

Actually I'll take that back. Both times I opened up the variator a plastic clip fell out without me verifying it was attached. I do see some indications it could have came loose inside.

Your old rollers look more like polygons. No wonder you were sluggish.
