Good Lord! That little motor makes a GET look like a V-Twin! 😆

That's not a good design to check the points. They must do an electronic ignition right? Yes they do. Not sure which model exactly but the ciao-mix (with oil injector) must have it. Maybe vespa bravo has it too. They also come with a variator and kickstarter. Pretty awesome little mopeds.

Those nice and mild upgrades! Thats the DR kit you have there? By adding or leaving out the head gasket you can add either top speed or torque very easily. They come without one from the factory, by adding a head gasket you'll lower the compression which results in higher top speed but you'll lose some acceleration. Worked a lot on these little mopeds. They're so much fun and super cheap to maintain.

I’m excited to see what you do with this thing. Never too many Vespas in Pittsburgh. Did you open the intake patch at all? I bet it’s one of the smaller ones with the size of the carb that was on it. The Olympia is a lot like a larger bore stock cylinder with boost ports. The newer dr that replaced this one has larger split transfer ports and bigger boost ports.

At the 20 minute mark of this video he goes over cutting the crank for increased inlet timing. This really wakes up the Vespa motors. youtu.be/4mcr5-tuANY
