I got a non-running possibly iffy scooter, 2008 TPGS-811 150cc with 1P57QMJ engine, I've been taking it apart, and now found the spark plug tip is melted, and the flywheel only turns maybe 45 degrees and gets stuck, so either things are melted inside, there's junk there, etc.
I've never disassembled a scooter engine before, so any suggestions on what to try first is welcome!
I watched a few videos, it's possible I can dismantle the top end without removing the engine. I already removed the seat, all the plastics, the carburetor, and intake manifold. I also removed the valve cover, and that's when I discovered the problem, I couldn't turn the flywheel to get to tdc.
Also, I have a generic gy6 engine manual, it says 159QMB which is for 50cc, most of the info send relevant to the 1P57QMJ 150cc. If there's a 150cc version, or an addendum that tells about the settings that are different, that would be useful. I think CR7HSA spark plug works for the 150cc.

If you cant turn it to tdc with the cylinder on, then just try taking it apart as is and then rotate it later on that last bit. Line the cam up afterwards. To turn it while the engine is off, just put your finger on the inside of the chain where the cam would normally go and create tension that way while rotating it so it doesnt either fall into the engine or jump off the crank gear

Photos in that manual are great quality! And it has engine specs, which probably matches mine. It does say C7HSA spark plug, too.
I'll start dismantling the engine in the next few days. If I run into head scratchers, I'll be back!!!

The piston was melted. I can't get the last part of the top off, the one with the piston in it, the seal is glued shut. Any tricks for removing it?
I'll post photos soon.

The piston does move up and down almost all the way, but the flywheel won't make a full turn, I can turn the flywheel clockwise until it stops, then counterclockwise until it stops, the piston moves up and down that way.

That's a bruise. Was it bone stock or had it been modded?

That has been running seriously lean by the looks of it. There is going to be lots of debris through the engine. 😢

If so, does it mean I should remove the engine from the frame? How to remove the cylinder block from the crank case? The seals probably melted into glue! I guess I should drain the engine oil soon?

I would drain the engine oil. You can then look for any metal. It will probably be on the bottom, or if you shine a light on the oil, the metal particles will stand out.

Do I open the crank case somehow to look inside and clean it, or should it be visible once I remove the cylinder head from the crank case? (Which I haven't figured out how to loosen yet, I may try a puller contraption).
