Thank you, sir! Thought it would be fun to just show some comparisons between the Adly and the spare Keeway motor that I have. Needed to break down the Keeway anyway. Was a freebie motor when I bought the Yamati and I don't trust it as is. So on the left you have the Keeway/QJ 1e40qmb and on the right is the Adly JA90, which I'm figuring is close to a 1e50qmf. Designs are pretty close. The QJ is longer overall, but the Adly's drive is set much further back, hence that weird 878x17 drive belt. The QJ is also a bit chunkier.

Very similar in most respects. This is where knowing the small differences can save you ordering the wrong stuff. 👍

So I've heard some folks argue about QJ cranks vs Adly cranks. Some folks say sizes are similar, some say they aren't. Some say they use the same bearings, some say they don't. Well, lets pull the QJ apart an find out. pulled out the six sisters. Surprised at how nice and clean they are given how funky and grimy this engine is. BTW I absolutely HATE these bolts to fragile. Got all the clips and screws out. Time for Hansel and Gretel to do their thing. If you are new and reading this buy a crank puller and a case splitter that hundred bucks or so will save a ton of frustration and energy. Worth it!

From the junk I have in my pile, they both have the same bearings and dimensions in the crank area,,some brands use a small taper flywheel(Eton),others use the big taper/big variator spline..I prefer the big ones as they are stiffer, but the Yamaha flywheels and variators dont fit...Adly uses the short case Mina tranny so regearing is a bit easier..

The proper tools make it so much easier. Looks like you have the same ones as me. 😁

Yessir! That seems to be the case. 6204c3 crank bearings and the same seals.

I took apart my first motor with a wood block and a deadblow hammer. I learned how to do it in case I ever have to but I hope never ever again. Lol. My 2nd favorite tool... $25 cheapie bearing puller set. Love this thing too.

Right! We are completely disassembled on the QJ. Time to clean up and get dinner. If anyone ever tried to tell you a Keeway/Vento/CPI crank will fit in and Adly/Arctic Cat/CanAm Bombardier 90, that is a big ole NOPE. Well I guess it fits, but you ain't gonna be happy about it. Lol 🤣

It's important to compare apples to apples here. I have owned a Vento/CPI 1E52. That crank would fit fine in an Adly 90 case. Also, if you had a CPI 49cc beside an Adly 49cc, their cranks should be swappable between cases. As John said earlier, your variator or flywheel may not fit due to taper and spline differences, plus you may have a different wrist pin diameter. Depends on the year. The majority of CPI stuff is large spline/taper/pin though. Anytime you deal with stroker cranks, you have to be careful. There are multiple configurations out there. For example, you'll find a lot of 90cc stock cranks are 42mm stroke and large taper/spline/pin. I don't recall what it was from, but I once bought a stock crank from a 90cc ATV and it was a 45mm stroke with a 12mm pin, but small taper and IIRC the smaller splined section diameter as well.

The 10mm link you mention is for the threads on the crank ends..Its a 45mm stroke,12mm pin..That is the one to get and match the flywheel and variator to it..The 42 stroke just doesnt play well with most available cylinders...
