Hello, I'm really new here and I'm appreciating the wealth of information around this board. I recently picked up a 2009 Benzhou Retro Star YY50QT-15 for a really good price and with less than 200KM on it. It worked for us as it would become my daughters daily...our school colors are red and white so she's thrilled. Well I've started into this thing and have found only a few things making me angry and annoyed - but the biggest one was one I missed when I picked it up and that was the shocks were leaking or HAD LEAKED - it seemed fine but whatever. I disassembled the shocks to find very little oil left in them and pitting on the shaft (I'm assuming that is how it got out but I dunno). Anyway - the seals were in great shape but I was able to get the measurements off of them - I'm curious if anyone here knows of any decent aftermarket replacement shocks for these things? I don't want to break the bank. I don't even know how to properly measure for them either - so thats a problem too. Any help or info would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

fugaziiv probably has the parts you’re looking for. You’d measure diameter in millimeters, not circumference, and also total length. The caliper mount measurement is helpful.

I did end up pulling the shocks apart - they looked like the ATM50 style shock but the bottom section didn't come out the same as the video... a 10 mm hex on the top did the trick but I had to "unscrew" the bolt out of the bottom....THERE WAS NO OIL IN EM. Emptied and cleaned them out and then refilled at ATF4+ the seals worked good and I made a note of the size in case I need to order them later.
Still wish I knew if I could get aftermarkets for this one. IS it as simple as knowing the diameter of the inner section and the OAL?
