Im a dumbass. I took a lil XR50 mini moto on a trade and accidentally deleted the guys messages. Have no clue how to get in contact. Its a legit bile, but now comes my problem. Id like to get it road legal which involves using a bill of sale since its a dirt bike to register. Well, i have no way to contact the guy....you see my problem.
This is gonna sound really really scummy, but the bike isnt stolen so ill ask anyway. Could i write a bill of sale and have the seller be an uncle or something? Its a legit bike, i just cant remember the guys name. Would that bill of sale work with no hiccups? HEEEEELP

Couldn't you just go and knock on his door, explaining what happened. See if he could write you another invoice?

You really have to go to your state DMV and simply ask them what they will require. No harm if its not reported as stolen (have you checked)? Each state does things their own way and will change their laws on occasion.
I'm still dealing with a bonded vehicle title since 2017 simply because MN changed their DMV software and lost my title info. They don't do anything to repair their screwups, they make you jump through their hoops.
So that may be something they do with you, make you get a bonded title.
