I have just bought my first scoot, its a non runner at the moment but I can't work out how the lights work. There is no light switch or high/low beam etc. Its got all of its original handlebar switches on it, but where other bikes have buttone etc mine has blanking plugs! I have seen pics of other models e.g. speedfight and they have switches and flash button etc. I think mines an 'off road' model. Please if anyone could explain to me I would be most grateful. Thanks

Welcome to the forum. Most newer scooters don't have an on/off switch. The lights are on all the time. They won't come on till the scooter is running. The high/low beam should be controlled by a switch on the left bar.

I have the same scoot, it only has the starter button on the right side but should have a high/low beam switch on the left side

In this video, you can clearly see it's the blue switch.

That's strange. Can you post a picture of the controls?

The ignition key switch only has on or off positions, so it makes sense that lights will be on all the time

If it has bulb/s for headlights they likely only come on when engine is running.

Is there a connector that nothing was plugged into up by the handle bars? How many wires are in the head light connector by the headlight housing, 2 or 3?

What does the button on the top left do? You might have to undo the left switch gear and have a look.

Okay doesn't look wired for headlights on that end, likely one wire is for the horn, the other 4 are for the turn signals. Have had no luck finding a wiring diagram. What does the connector at the headlight housing where the bulbs are look like?
