Its a 2 wire connector so it doesn't have an option of switching between the two, both lamps come on together. At least that has cleared things up, thanks for your help and interest.

Still really strange set-up. Not having a dip/high function.

Yes but it all looks original so may be that's just the way it is. I know they did an 'off road' version and would be interested if that is the one I have and also to know what features it has or hasn't got compared to other TKR's. Mine is the Rally Victories model featured on my avatar

If you're not happy with the aim of the low beam you could look at the bottom of the headlight for a screw like the screw circled in red in my photo. This is off an ETon Beamer, but yours should be similar just a screw randomly sticking out of the bottom.. You turn this left and right to lower or raise the angle of the headlight beam. Have the scooter on level ground about 15 feet from a wall then have somebody about your weight sit on the scooter and hold it upright. At the headlight measure the distance from the ground to the center of the light beam now go over to the wall and mark this height with a piece of tape. Don't aim the brightest spot on the wall above this mark. Also if the screw doesn't want to turn DO NOT force it. It screws into plastic that is easy to break.
