Hey everyone! I’ve been wondering how to find my rev limiter in my 50cc keeway hurricane 50cc I would like to change it for a switch limiter for more power and performance when I need it, I’ve tried googling it and can’t find any information on it, does anyone know where it could be? Thanks!

Have removed other restrictions on your scoot, some are restricted by the cdi but if no ones listing it or posting about it? Then it probably isn,t restricted by the cdi.

Geoff Yes my mechanic charges me 20€ to take it off And on I have a custom cdi in it already but it doesn’t Make a difference, I don’t want to give my mechanic anymore more When I could probably do it myself. 👍🏻👍🏻

We will need a bit more input from you, what speed does it get to and what rpm are you seeing,is it a smooth acceleration to your top speed,do you have tools available.

Geoff Sorry about the late reply! It can currently hit a top speed of 55kmh and the revs I’m not too sure because I don’t have a rev-o meter, I just know that when I take it to the mechanic he tells me it’s the rev limiters he takes off, acceleration is quick and smooth, just sometimes feels like I have a worn or dusty clutch because the bike will jolt at minimum revs on a cold engine starts

At 55kph it,s just about right for a stock 49cc,with a few mods you can get more out of it but reliability drops away, your mechanic may be encouraging you to call him more often.

I haven't run into a specific rev limiter on the Yamati, also a QJ bike like Keeway. One of the things you can run into are variator boss that has a hump in it, keeps the variator from closing fully and can limit top end. Pipes can be restricted which also cuts down on power. If you are running stock everything, then the bike is going to run exactly as designed as geoffh pointed out. If you want to shift the bike profile more toward acceleration or top end, then there are some tweaks you can make with the transmission, lighter or heavier rollers, stiffer springs to move take off to higher rpm, but gains are incremental. Rollers and springs are cheap and easy to change out. Bigger gains come with pipe, cylinder and carb setup, but it's important to understand how it all fits together. As geoffh also pointed out, fiddling with the profile can make the bike less reliable. It's really important to look at the service/repair manual for your bike. Gives you an understanding of how your machine fits together and where you can make changes. Also read through the boards here about other builders mods. Am certain there are several hurricane threads here. You can also look under vento zip, TNG ls49, and there's also a CPI version - can't remember name. All of these bikes were made by QJ and those models are all pretty much the same. A bit wordy, I know, but hope it points you in the right direction. Best of luck with the tuning.
