With the gas shortage lately there are stations around that have only ethanol free 90 gasoline. Would that be safe to use for a 139qmb 49cc scooter...Thanks

As long as you don't have any modifications that alter your octane requirements to above 90, it should be great for it. Many prefer ethanol free, but it can be a bit cost prohibitive and availability is normally much lower than E10. It's easier on fuel lines and seals and such and doesn't turn to varnish if you don't ride for a few weeks.

I use 93oct, my 2 stroke sat all winter, when i jetted the carb recently, inside the float bowl looked brand new. Is this because 93oct?

No. If it's ethanol free, that would be a contributor. High octane fuels still go bad. My E10 sure does.

In Michigan they call it Rec90. Pure gasoline. We use it for our old classic tractors along with lead substitute (which is getting hard to find). In most gas stations that have it, you have to put the rec90 in a gas can because you can't pump it into a road legal vehicle.

My scoot runs way better on ethanol free. They only have 89 octane here but it runs like a champ way better I get more mileage and better performance. I'm a auto mechanic and the more ethanol the more fuel u need to get the right mixture. the e 85 cars the computer compensates by operating the injectors longer the more ethanol it detects. And if ur worried about octane just buy a octane booster and put a little bit in when u fill up. And it doesn't varnish like e10. Ethanol attracts moisture it's really bad for engines without a doubt
