SARCASM THREAD - BE FOREWARNED
So here i am - living my almost best life in East TN - reading through these scooter builds and dying inside.
A few weeks ago, i had words with the apartment management and they told me that "if i want a motorcycle" (scooter - i corrected them) "a ...motorcycle... that it has to park in visitor parking. Or go rent a storage unit."
Visitor parking is parallel parking on the main road up the way and far out of eyesight from my apartment. And the nearest storage units are 3 miles away for $180/month.
I'm literally -dying- for some 2 wheel therapy. There are so many beautiful roads down here in paradise that we didn't have in the great white north. And i'm likely without for the 2 years my wife and i plan to be here.
The 2 year plan, you ask? Save up for a 50% down payment on a house. With a garage/workshop. To store and fix on my "motorcycles".
I hate my life and i envy y'all.

Far too many 'landlords' take the last part of the word way too seriously. Just think who they'll be calling for after they die.

I know your pain, used to live in an apartment myself before moving.
any chance you got a balcony? if so just park the scooter there and hide it with a tarp and some furniture in front of it.
One of my buddies who lived on the second floor would just carry his qt50 up the stairs and store it on the patio, i don't see why a scooter would be any different.

If you have a parking "allocation" it should be up to you what you put in it,but I know little of your customs and rituals, the V5 (title) document of my scoot says its a bike, that leaves lots of scope for misunderstandings on where I can park it.it,s only two years man up.

It,s only two years man up. Geoff It's only 2 years... in a place i've wanted to live in my whole life. So much natural beauty all around me to explore, so much to take in. I literally have a mountain view off my patio, rolling hills and valleys, tight, twisting scenic roads. East Tenn has more beauty in a 5 mile stretch than all the flat straight farm roads minnesota ever had. They're just begging me to ride them...

Having moved from a house with a garage to an apartment with a shared (but gated) parking space, I feel your pain.
The problem with larger apartment complexes is they have to enforce rules very strictly to keep morons from being morons. But it also means that decent people are stuck.

Just saying. I really -don't- hate any of y'all. I'm scootin vicariously through all you guys.
Update too, i got a buddy down here that might share custody of a toolin around scooter with me - so it can stay at his place. Really good, honest guy and is pretty interested in scooters - since i shared the scoot love bug with him lol. Anyway, we'll be picking up a scoot i've seen on fb marketplace that hasn't sold in the last 2 months to fix up and ride. Once i get my scooters down from minnesota, i'd gift him the one we'll be picking up.

I think we got the irony in "hate" but that sounds like a good set up for you,are you sure you want leave that moonshine laden state? Geoff ohhhh man, if i see another jar of moonshine, it'll be way too soon. Don't get me wrong, everyone here's been so welcoming, friendly, and generous with their hospitality. My wife and i have been invited to so many get-togethers down here, and had many a jar passed to us. I'd be quite content leaving that jar alone for the next 8-12 months. Other than that, yeah we're not leaving. We found paradise. The weather is perfect, the roads are adventurous, the people are amazing, the jobs we have are top-notch, the local views are stunning, the cost of living and price of ownership is low, and southern food is so flavorful! I have yet to find anything that hasn't exceeded (or completely blown away) expectations! Its remarkable down here! Oh wait. I don't have a scooter yet...
