An engine for this bike is for sale locally. Is it any sort of desireable 2-stroke engine?

I dunno about all Adlys, but some were definitely minarelli horizontals!

I would say = desirable.
I'm pretty sure Adly's are Etons. Same Taiwan factory. That new Lambretta is Adly. The backers of that wouldnt be cheap.

ok so its 1e40 top mount with the carb kinda on the front so to speak, not out the side correct?

Intake comes out just behind the cylinder, on the top of the case. Airbox can be over the CVT or just in front of it in most cases. If you can get a good look, it should be fairly obvious after all the pics I've thrown up here.

what could the estimated possible value be for a 1e40qmb complete less stator and starter in running condition?

If it's a longcase, they're harder to come by lately and you should end up with a couple hundred out of it anyway. I paid a member $165 shipped IIRC for a long case missing the top end and it was the only one I could find at the time that wasn't new and much more money.

i guess im gonna have to go look at it. the girl replying to my emails has no clue what i mean by engine number or top mount etc all she knows is 2stroke adly scooter motor $50 lol
