Bought a 2006 Baja SC 50 4stroke. It has 600 miles on it. Is there a way to get it to go faster than 25 mph. The thach says it could do 50. I know the factory smogs it down . But is there anything I can do besides a bbk and such

A friend had an SC50, that year or close. The engine is a GY6 50/139QMB, but it has a CVT like the 1E40QMB 2 strokes. Kind of an oddball. Anyway, his would do 30-35 stock. If you're only at 25MPH, you may want to start by making sure it's in good shape. Check compression, go over the CVT, tire pressures, etc... I don't recall if it had any restrictions in the CVT. My friend worked on that himself, screwed it up, and didn't want to talk about it. We cut off the muffler and used the stock header, but mounted an FMF exhaust. I don't recall anything in the header to restrict it.

Also check the carb be sure the jets aren't restricted especially if it has been sitting for any amount of time
