Hello everyone, I have a vento zip r3i with a malossi variator (5gr weights, with a shim on the boss) yellow contra spring i believe its 1500rpm) and blue clutch springs (1000rpm) with a tecnigas exhaust. My take off is awesome my top end is around 45mph, my question is what can I do to get this scooter to hit 50 to 55mph. I did try 6gr sliders but it made my acceleration sluggish and did not improve my top end at all, with my current set up clutch engages and take off around 5/6000rpm. At wot 45mph ranges between 8600/9000rpm, any help would be appreciated. Idk any of this would be possible without bbk, or carb change.

Welcome to the forum. To go faster, you need more power, or power higher up the rev range. You didn't mention what exhaust the tecnigas is. But something like a Yasuni R might get it there. Other things like gearing, carb used, and rider weight will effect how it goes too. The easy answer is a bigger sports BBK that would match your exhaust, and gears. What sort of roads are you using the scooter on?

I believe its the tecnigas next rs, most of the roads i drive is flat roads not to many hills. One thing that I did notice when I removed the shim in front of the boss my take off was slow but I was able to hit 50mph. I did order a new set of shims with different sizes so maybe I can play with the shims to get more speed, how difficult would it be to install a bbk and new carb? Also what about changing the clutch bell, and the rear pully?

With my stock cylinder I was only hitting 45.

Top Speed Higher RPMs with Power and Gear Ratio.
You Have Pushed Higher RPMs with the Pipe over Stock Most Stock Bores are designed to run in the 8k Range So the Stock Bore holds the pipe back
A 70cc Kit would provide more power and let RPMs go a notch higher .
Gear Ratio A Bigger Variator properly adds around 5%-10% more speed .

Brent has a good guide here 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/556/install-big-bore-kit-1e40qmbIf you really want 50mph consistently, a Polini or Malossi sport is the way to go. Easy to maintain, long lasting, and would significantly improve performance.

The Malossi Variator is big enough and you have the pipe now its on to adding power with a 70cc kit.
A Polini ,Malossi sport kits are very reliable and a big upgrade

Will changing my clutch, clutch bell, and secondary slider give me any improvements with my current set up?

Changing the clutch bell an slider is not needed. For more High Rpm High Horsepower Builds then maybe
On my vinos I run a Malossi 70 cc Malossi kit Wild lion street pipe and Malossi variator Upjetted Stock Carb and I run 9100 rpms and 50 mph . Stock 2 shoe 105 mm clutch and stock slider with the dog leg angle.
Now on the Zuma that was Turning 10 k rpms with a narrower powerband the clutch and slider needed to be changed out because the dog leg angle would pull me out of narrow power band on deceleration and I upgraded to a better clutch and bell to cut down on clutch fade.

Ok so I won't spend money on the clutch bell and slider, I might just up jet the carb to see if that will give me a little more performance.

If you didnt upjet when you got the pipe get a jetting range that goes from where you are now to 10% larger.
Work your way down from the biggest till you find the highest speed main jet if 2 jets give you the same speed take the bigger one.
After setting the main you may have to move the needle up or down a notch or two . Go for the one that gives you best throttle response from 1/4 -3/4 throttle if 2 are similar take the richer one .
Then last thing to clean up that 1/4 throttle area a 1/4 to 1/2 turn either in or out on the air screw to find the best throttle response.

Thanks for the information, no ive never upjeted the carb after installing the parts. So im sure doing it will give me a slight better performance. Any jetting kits you would recommend for the 40qmb?
