I have a problem on vacuum system for fuel tap. Vacuum Pipe comes out carb to a T piece. One pipe goes off to emission blob on head other pipe to tap.
Gezzer I got bike from could only get it to run if primed carb first and when carb empty bike stopped so blamed vacuum tap. I disconnected from T piece so pipe went direct to carb still would not work so replaced tap with new and still only works if carb primed first. Both taps worked to prime carb by applying vacuum to pipe.
Today removed pipe again from carb and the pipe on carb pulses air instead of sucks. So if T piece put back on and smaller bore pipe on vacuum pump side would the bigger bore going to the emissions blob on head cause a vacuum on smaller bore pipe or is my theory flawed

plug off the emissions line and just run a direct line to tap and check for manifold leaks.
Any leak in emissions stuff or manifold will ruin vac for the tap.
The vacuum at the manifold just sucks 1/4 of the time on a 4 poke.

Incase anyone has similar problem it was the inline fuel filter that caused the problem which appears to have been a cheap one instead of the quality ones by the likes of Kohler etc. My thanks to FrankenMech for his assistance.
