May have figured this one out, I have fashioned a tool I thought up while eating, I can fully compress the string using both hands on it and it leaves a nice gap need some assistance to drop in the collects .friend is back round tomorrow so fingers crossed! still need to know about the Dowels though if anybody has an idea  |

Guess your brain was just hungry? ;D Got some food in ya and he started working hard again. Or were you eating spaghetti when you came up with this string tool?  Let us know how it works for you. I think it's 2 per tier (2 in the rocker assembly, 2 in the head, 2 in the base). It's been a while for me and a GY6 though. If you inspect each passage, you should see that some are larger or have a short section that's setup for a dowel. |

Ahh yeah had a quick look in the dark under torch light noticed the thicker openings with a small ledge down in the passage, I have five dowels so I am missing one, was not anywhere on my old engine gonna have to order one with my new head many thanks all this waiting for parts and to be back on the road. not fun  |
