So I dumped my moped due to a deer, and picked it up and drove home without realizing that the oil had leaked out through the carb. When I got home I did a look over and noticed the oil bubble was empty so I filled it up. And the next day when i went to work the moped only goes up to 45. It still accelerates basically the same which I find odd. I don't understand. I've been driving it this way for about a month due to lack of money and lack of time to look at it myself and it hasn't hickuped at all after repeatedly going on 60 mile trips between cities. It just no longer goes above 45... Wtf. If anyone has any ideas what could be wrong please fire away. I may take apart the transmission to check and see if something got knocked off kilter in there but that seems pretty unlikely.
I'm about to clean the carb finally. Maybe see if that alleviates things. All the plastic panels and hoses are annoying as hell I'm very tempted to remove the emissions system.

I dumped mine back in September. But I haven’t had an issue like you were talking about.
I would check your air filter for oil saturation.

Either air filter like said or possibly lost some compression from riding home with no/low oil or maby something with the carb maby some debris knocked loose and restricted jets my bet is clogged air filter or loss of some compression
