Hey everybody =-) I was browsing online and I ran across an ad for this: " QMB 139 SHORT/ GY6 *** 0 MILES*** These are replacement engines. for Chinese Street scooters with 12 inch wheels. They are 4 stroke , 50cc engines with alternator/ generator , CVT transmission, clutch & final drive. 3 Enginesvarw new, 0 miles. All have good compression, $40 FIRM EACH.. I have 1 used engine that is high output, HP clutch and racing CVT parts. That 1 is $75 FIRM. Also there is 1 parts only engine for $20. Carb, wiring harness, ignition module, hand controls, etc. also available at extra cost. If you buy all 4 , I will throw in the parts engine for free." Now, I am into this hobby. I have a 2001 Vino and a 2021 PCX. I watch a lot of videos here on this site, and would like an engine to tinker with. As you can see, even the splines are rusty... $40. I don't know why I am posting this. I should just go out and get one. I can afford it.

I think the above only takes 10" wheels being short case.

You not fitting 12 inch tires in a shorty for sure and there pretty beat looking. That being said I'd buy a few of them I always keep a few junk motors around I can't tell u how many times I saved my ass with a part in a jam off a junk motor I had laying around. Even something as small as a dowl pin I needed when building a motor the fact of not having to wait for days for one to come. As for using them as they are they look kinda beat I'd be more to buying a few to build some extra motors to have around I usually keep one built with a cheapo Amazon 50mm cylinder and piston in case I blow something in my good motor I just swap it in there while I'm waiting on parts and repairing my good one. Sometimes I'll buy a cheap blown up scoot off offer up and bang one if my extra motors in maby slap a decent paint job on and sell it for like 5 or 600. I'll usually pay 50 to 100 for the beater scoot slap the motor I had laying around in and bam 400 us profit which we all know equals 👀 more racing parts for me lol. It's a vicious cycle lol but fix sell buy more parts install in my scoot and repeat lol

Thanks guys,
Yeah for $40 a pop, I think it may be worth it in the long run. Especially now that I'm in the hobby.

40 bucks for spare parts is dirt cheap . Added bonus If you do any modding up you can test fit the junk motor first.

Geoff Yes Geoff I just come to that conclusion with one 50cc complete piaggio typhoon engine and one ET4 50cc complete engine in bits and electrics that why not just keep the vespa 50 going when I need to pay for no bits instead of the 125cc which I have no parts for and is costing me money in these lean time's. Well hopefully that will be going in the next week. Put a 78cc kit on the typhoon for when I can be bothered to fit it. Oh well live and learn. Good topic to bring up jonnyrocket made I think.

I'm currently staying in a Marriott residence hotel for bout a year now I got a junkyard of scooter parts and engines tucked away in a corner of the parking garage. It's at the point now I'm almost running a small shop in there garage lol I use the fire stairs in the garage as my paint booth ha I don't think they understand what exactly I got going on in there lmao I also pick up the electric rental scooters from downtown Orlando and charge them in the stairwells there's times I got 15 scooters charging on there electric dollar while I'm swapping motors on customers scooters 🤔😂
