I've been reading about Skeedr but I had no idea... Wow man. Sick scoot, 2strokd.
I want that in a daily driver.
Brent - WTF you have two nasty scooters - They don't run like that??

Nope. I can get 'em to go pretty quick, but no power wheelies. I made my 99cc do small small power wheelies off the line at one point and I've never figured out how I did it yet. lol After changing clutches, trans setups, etc... it slips all the time. The best I've done is low 50's in the eighth mile (not on a track though) and 65MPH top speed. It would be a bit nastier if I didn't weigh nearly 300lbs though. lol This has been posted here before, but if you missed it... Here's my 99cc with a lighter rider doing 60MPH in just over 1/8 mile vs a 150cc with a few mods doing about the same. www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXR_CaDf0R0

Dude props to you for getting 65 mph out of your scooter with 300lbs on it! I'm only 5'5" (Runs in the family ), and 150 pounds. I was going to ask if you sit back on the seat enough for it, but I realize now that even I sit back on the seat to ride more comfortably. You probably stay on the back of the seat for leg room. I ultimately just want my scooter to run like a similarly sized dirtbike 2 stroke would. Very pronounced powerband, excellent throttle response, and be LOOOOOUD! Speaking of being loud, do you guys ever get stopped for having those exhaust pipes that really do make it sound like a YZ80? Just wondering cause I'm preparing for a cross country trip and want to avoid the lawmen if at all possible.

I have never had any problems with my exhaust being too loud and i live and do most of my riding in town. Brent lives in the country but does allot of riding in local towns w/out a problem. Granted i dont go provoking them either. The way i figure if their gonna pull my little 49cc (69 : scooter over for a loud exhaust. Well then....Im gonna have a talk about noise db,s and loud harleys cause my scooter has nothing on some of the loud ass v-twins i hear. I dont think you will have a problem, but that really depends on your local law . It can be tough getting a daily driver to be dependable and yet flat out haul gas. Im not speaking from experience, just from what i have read. The higher revin race set-ups make the power but arent made to last as long. It can be hard to find that nice "safe" power for the street w/out pushing too far.... My advice would be to "think out" your mods carefully. Pick and choose the components that will work best together and tune well. These little things work as hard as they can to carry our fat asses (to the scooter were all fat lol) so every little detail is important in getting the power to the ground . Here i go again! sorry if im rambling

If you can build a scooter like that then you have the right to ramble! (Not that you were)
How dependable is your set up?

The only time I had trouble with a cop and my exhaust was when I decided to pull it off and run it with an open header. That was so loud that my right ear hurt for a day after the 20min ride. Anyway, I was in the country a bit and then went into my little town. Well, I provoke my local cops because it's a really small town and i swear they don't do anything but sit in the gas stations and BS or sit in the town hall with their feet up. I rev the scooters up at them and cars and just act like a jerk to be frank. I don't know what it is, I'm pretty nice. Maybe I'm jealous that I can't get a decent paycheck from sitting on my butt all day and driving a Crown Vic around? Sorry it's OT but there's the history lol. So as I come into town with my bare header I see the cop's truck (his vehicle not a police vehicle) parked at the town hall. At first I'm planning to play it cool and cruise by easy since it's so loud... well then I see him walk out to his truck and I can't keep the grin off my face as I open the throttle. He got in his truck and followed me out of town for that one. Had he been on duty I woulda got it for that. Otherwise, I've been amazed how little the law pays attention to loud exhausts.

I too live in a small town, and agree with you about the mentality and lifestyle of the police officers in small towns. Seem to think they ARE the law. I used to get tickets because my car had a ricer muffler on it. (No exhaust mods aloud in VA) But when the toyota's with huge wheels and lift kits come by with no exhaust's what so ever they suddenly become lenient? Pfff. Fuck 'em. (You might say that is a little excessive, but from experience they literally cause more harm then good - I called them when someone was breaking into my house... Guy left, cops still came. I was drinking underage and they searched my house and took me to jail. The fuck is with that, eh? Well at least I can thank them for taking my license, for now I realize that I love scooters ) An open 2 stroke NO exhaust?! Good god that is loud. I used to do that on my stand up scooter with 38cc's. (Ruined many a good pair of pants). Couldn't imagine what 70-100cc with no exhaust pipe sounds like.

I believe he was talking about his 1990 Ford Mustang GT convertable . With a turbo might i add lol! I used to live outside a small town too. It sucks when the law dog lablels ya ! Kinda makes ya want to light it up in front of em. I know the feeling, so does my DL

No that actually was referring to my 70cc scooter. My Mustang is the one vehicle I won't mess with the cops in (much). The only reason is that it has so much stuff that I could never get it to pass an inspection if I got a ticket. Here's the Mustang (before turbo) with bare headers on the street lol... www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5nq0yhm6LE

If you can build a scooter like that then you have the right to ramble! (Not that you were) How dependable is your set up? im just running a iron sport cylinder with the stock bottom end. In the vids im running a different bottom end, case etc, but basically the same setup. Its pretty dependable now...I would ride it about anywere.
