Here's a story I have been meaning to share with you guys. A few weeks back I had a order come in for an exhaust from a customer in NY. Me and the customer had conversations via phone and email about the order and I felt confident that the order was legit and I sent it out right away. The very same day the order arrived at his door he issues a "Unauthorized Transaction" chargeback on the order. Even though I talked to him, shipped signature confirmation, and he signed it with his name I still lost the chargeback dispute. Turns out it was sent to a "Unconfirmed" address which is not covered under the protection policy. The moral of the story is don't send anything to a "Unconfirmed" address as it won't be covered under Paypal's buyer protection policys and you can get screwed big time. I've had customers unhappy with me since I've stopped accepting orders that won't be covered under the buyer protection's but I would rather refund a order than loose my butt. Live and learn..

That blows. Doesn't even make sense to me. If they wanted to go through with the chargeback you'd think he'd be required to do it like a return seeing how it was shipped to an address where he signed for it.

Sorry Enviromoto . . . That sucks. I dont like PayPal. Try not to us it unless its absolutely necessary. Do you have any other recourse through the bank or credit card company or anything ?

Followed all avenues I could even contacted the local authorities. They just say its a cost of doing business, and in a way they are right. Just wanted to share so you don't make the same mistake.
Both paypal and google checkout operate the same way.

Could you not take the buyer to court? This side of the world you can initiate proceedings for £30, which you'd get back if you came to an agreement before seeing a judge, if it did come to that - they foot the bill if you win.
Had to do it a few times when customers decide not to pay for work (some of the excuses are just hilarious, if it weren't for the amount of money involved). I know you might say it's not worth it, but I'd do it for the principle.

Why not just confirm the address Ronan? Maybe it's different out of country or maybe I'm just wrong since it's been a while, but I thought all I had to do was get PayPal to place an automated call to the number associated with the address and enter a code they provided or something like that. Again, it's been a while so I may be mistaken, but it was a simple process.
