So I recently bought a 2007 genuine buddy 125 cc . Decided to put some performance parts on it. Starting with a polini 161 cylindr and ncy big valve . Ncy exhaust. And new carb. And also swapped stock air filter with high flo. I'm not sure what jets I should be running in carb ..currently I've got a 40 pilot jet and I believe 112 main??? I'm noticing on decelerating that I'm getting a lot of snap crackle and popping. ...Can anyone tell me a. What jets I should be running and b would this be the cause of said pop crackle and snap? Any suggestions greatly appreciated...fellow scooter enthusiasts.

40 idle is about right but ur main should be way higher my buddy got a 155cc and he's at 125 main I'd start with a 135 and go down from there ur correct jet will be the one that gives u the most rpm and top speed u need to do trial runs on same stretch of road in same outside conditions with a rpm gauge and gps speedometer start high and go down do not keep driving the way u are lean is very bad it causes overheating. Stock 150cc usually has a 110 or 115 stock no upgrades. U can seize ur motor or burn a piston driving like that u should immediately stop driving until u get bigger jets. Always start over rich and go down

U may need a bigger idle too possibly 45 but correct idle jet is the one that runs the best with the fuel mixture screw between 2 and 3 turns out. If it's more than 3 turns out idle jet is lean if its more than 2 turns in ur jet is too rich. Let it warm up enough for choke to be off than shut off and turn screw all way in bottom out screw but not tight back screw out 2 turns. Start bike let run a min than turn screw out 1/2 turn if idle goes up keep going if no response or goes down turn it in one full turn if rpm goes up keep going. If it keeps getting higher turning in till u can't turn go next size down idle jet if u run out of turns out go up one size jet and redo steps till it runs best and screw is 2 to 3 turns out
