I was cruising about 42 mph on my stock 2002 Zuma bugeye, 50cc. After about 20 minutes my speed dropped to 35 and wouldn’t go any faster. I checked the plug, air filter, fuel supply, fuel tank vent, exhaust manifold seal, pulled & cleaned the carb, and even burned the carbon out of my exhaust pipe. CVT is tuned great. Any ideas? I’m worried it may be something with the engine/cylinder. Could that be it? I am at a complete loss right now. Thanks.

Have you tried a compression test to see if it's lower? Tire pressure? Have you looked at the CVT since this happened to make sure nothing is wrong there?

I looked at reeds and they had very large gaps, which would account for lost power at high end. I replaced them and it runs like a top now.
