Thanks for that link,I managed to remove the carb cap screws and there is no restriction in there,I fitted the cheapo rev counter (it has no back light) it tops out at 7250rpm ticks along at 6000 and feels comfy around that. The scales arrived and to my surprise the rollers I swapped out are 5.5g not 4g as I guessed!!so some work required.the speedo needle is very jumpy so I stripped the cable, cleaned and oiled it,an easy job.the wiring around the engine has been hacked and I,m loath to dig in and repair it in case I unfix it,but I have a Chinese cdi ,plug and coil combo in the post it,s bright orange and at £12 may well be garage art before it arrives.A French company list a stock air filter assy €25 and I am waiting of a reply to my export enquiry.just for conversation the guy in the derestriction video must live close to me,my wife is from Liverpool and cannot " hear "the wiganeese accent he uses.for our USA audience think Texan drawl or Bronx muttering Geoff,15106 km

It was worth checking out the carb, just in case. The tachometer is a great tool for setting up a CVT. I probably have the same one. Online it says the rev limit is 7,000. So probably about right. It might pull a bit more speed with heavier rollers. I couldn't find where peak torque is.

Peak torque is quoted as 6k(somewhere deep in the site) which is how it feels if you let it build up and use the spare get up the hill Geoff

So I tackled the valve clearance issue, remarkably simple on the kisbee, remove seat bucket and the two plastic panels that run seat to floor, this leaves the engine exposed and very easy to work on I have set the clearance at 0.10 mm cold as per the manual.the exhaust valve was looser than the inlet. The panels got a good clean whilst they were off and the passenger footrests removed and stored, this leaves a hole which will need a blank or bung of some sort.I ran my sat nav for two trips and was surprised to find an average speed of 24mph and a heady 39mph top speed, this is more than I thought I was getting . An hour of back to black waxing the floor and kick panel has cheered up the "cockpit" Pondering what to do about the panels they all have scratches,my painting skills are poor,I see a panel kit is available at £200 it may be the easy option but I,m not sure. Geoff

The headlamp issue turned out to be a loose connection to the cobbled loom,so scoot is sorted for now,I am trying to leave things alone for now, storm barra came through just I was on the way home and I got soaked to the bone I had to use the car on one day and used the sat nav to compare with the scoot, there was only tiny differences in the average speed and time so the scoot wins hands down on cost.I have found some stickers and grey vynal play with the cosmetics . Time marches on,I changed the engine oil today the manual calls for 800ml but this is way to much and the strange method of checking the level is confusing, but its done now so we are all set for the winter.watch out for this filter easily missed when you drop the oil. Geoff

My last honda, you had to start it. Let it idle for three minutes, then let sit for 30 seconds. Then check the oil! Why the removed the sight glass of the previous model was a mystery. Manufacturers love to confuse us.

At 35mph it's probably restricted still. They do the tests to brand new engines. So you get a few miles when it loosens up. plus of course the speedos on 50cc scoots always over read a bit... if it was an Italian scoot it would come with a tuned speedo as standard

So still sitting on my hands or limited to cleaning the scoot till spring arrives I checked the fuel usage , I get it to 70mpg that's flat out riding and a lot of static rev,s at the lights,it,s lower than I thought but what do other,s get.

This is not good,a strange grinding noise has started to occur,it,s engine based ,I took the variator out and the noise persisted, dropped the oil nothing to see,no crank play and I have good compression, the flywheel puller came in today so I will dig into the right hand side of the engine in the morning.I have the engine out and just for the record 139QMB-E needs a 24mm right hand thread puller and not some half assed botched up red neck affair that will strip the threads of the fan bolts . OK I got the engine top end stripped the only thing I can find wrong is the camshaft bearing has started to fail its noisy and feels rough, help and advice welcome here,do you think that bearing fail would sound loud enough to be noticeable,I am reluctant to split the cases, not lazy just reticent.

They have a couple of low mileage engines on ebay. But that is about half what you paid for the scooter. From experience, Peugeot parts seem hard to get hold of. If it's a complete GY6 like the V Click, you could buy engine parts online. If it's slightly different, it means a Peugeot dealer is your only option for parts. Pedparts have a cylinder kit, and crank. It says fitment is only for the kisbee. And the crank is out of stock. 😬
You could try the long screwdriver trick. Get a screwdriver with a long shank, and place it on any metal surface. If you put the handle to your ear, it acts as a stethoscope.
