I bought this scoot as a non runner and not knowing anything about modern scooters, can anyone give me a clue. Has no spark and starter motor won't work on the key, the brake light and indicators work. Starter works if I power it direct. The starter relay is not faulty, I have checked it. I think the immobiliser is missing? there is no aerial ring thing around the ignition switch.

Peugeot are notorious for the immobiliser failing. Most seem to fit a bypass to sort it.

And just to eliminate it,a lot of scoots need the brake applied to activate the starter.

Happy to help, use the tech section to diagnose the no start problem,a short cut is to dump any old fuel and start fresh, some easy start may be needed to"jump start" the systems back to life.

Check to make sure you have a ground wire to your engine.
As far as Chinarelli's and SYMs, the main ground wire connects to one of the starter bolts.
No engine ground strap = no spark.
I just went through this during my engine swap. Kicked and kicked for 30 minutes. Tried to crank it with a drill in reverse via the variator nut, broke the drill chuck retaining screw. Gave up after an hour to avoid insanity. The next morning, as i was driving back from the store, it dawned on me that the engine was not grounded.
