99.9% are under the floormat where your feet rest. Two other sites are by the handlebars (on a reverst trike design) and under the seat(on a LARGE scoot with 13" wheels). Other than that, you need to pull up the floormat, which likely has little 'knobs' that poke into holes in the plastic floor board, and you should find a plate that covers the battery box. If you follow the largest electric cables under the seat 'bucket'(under the cushioned part - need to remove several 'acorn' or regular nuts) you should find the battery location. The large wire leading from the starter should go to the starter relay. The OTHER large wire on the relay should go directly to the battery. That should give you enough hint as to the actual location. If your machine is not very old, the battery may just need to be re-charged. A battery 'keep alive' slow charger can put a charge into the battery overnight. Or other larger chargers can be found. Do, repeat DO limit the current flow into the battery to 2A or less, otherwise you may damage a battery. Over-current flow when charging can make the gizzards expand due to heat, causing them to lose their 'paste' that makes them an electrode. The paste can fall to the bottom and short the cell, or push against the opposite plate, and physically damage them(each other). Slow is good for small batteries. The lowest cost provider will likely be DaBay or DaRiver. You may find replacements locally, but their pricing is almost double the online sources in a LOT of cases. Check around before purchase to maximize your value.

Thanks for the help. This is a phone conversation TODAY with a sales rep: Good morning, is this 5 Star Scooters LLC? Yes sir it is. Great. Um, I bought an Ice Bear last year. The battery is dead and I can't find the battery to recharge it. Yes sir, what model is it? Um, well it's an Ice Bear. Yes sir but which kind? What? Do you have the receipt sir? What does It say? Um it says Ice Bear Vision Orange 49cc Okay you have an Ice Bear Vision. The battery is under your feet. Under my seat? No sir, it's under your feet. My feet? Yes, where you put pour feet when riding the Ice Bear. Under my feet? You're kidding. No sir, take out the two screws and pull up the panel. That's where the battery is. Um, thank you very much. Good bye sir.

I don't know whether the charger is working. If I use our truck to jump-start the scooter, if I keep it running for an hour or so will that recharge the battery? Or could the truck battery damage the scooter?
TIA,
kpo

Jump starting it is fine but don't leave the cables on and use the truck to charge battery. And the stator in the scooter if it runs for a while may leave enough juice to start it again but neither a alternator in a car or a stator in the scoot is made to recharge a battery it's made to maintain the charge. Even if after running the scoot for a while even if it starts again the battery is not anywhere near fully charged those batteries don't hold up well to going completely dead and they need to be charges slowly and a long time to get a full charge

The model does matter. I have an Ice Bear. Kind of a Ruckus clone, with basically no body panels. Mine is in the front. Right in front of my right knee. But all others are under your feet.

The Amazon battery charger arrived today. Being 0.8 amp it could take 30 hours to fully charge.

That sounds more like a tender, than charger. Both of my chargers will charge a flat battery in under an hour.

I cannot quote the time needed to recharge, but I would look at the battery case to see if there is a recommended charge rate. The AGM batteries seem to charge at a lower rate than normal flooded lead-acid batteries. No guarantee, but I think max rate is ~2A. Either way, you do not want to charge small batteries at an excessive rate. Pretty sure it will damage them. tom

Okay the 8 amp charger finally gave enough power to start the scooter. I checked that the lights and turn signals work. But then noticed the horn doesn't work. Do I need another night hooked up to the Amazon charger? TIA, kpo

If the lights work, the horn should. Check if you have power going to the horn. If not try the switch. If you don't have a multimeter, you could run two wires directly to the horn.

Battery voltage goes through the ignition switch and feeds a lot, horn on the list. There should be voltage at the horn switch with the key ON. The other lead from the switch sends power to the horn. The other lead on the horn should be to ground. Check for voltage at the switch and with the button pushed, the horn connector. tom

I saw today that the speedometer is dead. Any connection to the the horn switch?
