Not sure if I am asking this question in the correct section anyway , I have a Sym Symphony ST200i fuel injected I have looked all over the internet for a new exhaust as I wanted something louder but I can’t find anything, so I was wondering if modify the stock exhaust can I just remove the baffles or stuffing to make it louder and would this have affect bad effects on my engine ?

I cut the back off mine gut the inside out and pack it with steel wool and than fabric something over the back to hold the wool in. It sounds great and u can adjust the loudness by how much steel wool u pack in. U can pack as much as u want in there it doesn't seem to restrict flow much at all. It does burn away after a few months I repack mine about ever 8 months or so depending on how much I had packed in there it's cheap I get it in 3 packs at the dollar store. Not the sos type pads with soap on them the straight stainless steel ones. Now as for the exhaust nothing will have a bad effect but in the fuel injected I'm not sure if the ecm will compansate extra fuel or u have to change something manually in a carb u would just have to go a few bigger main jet sizes I would think ur ecm will adjust for more air movement automatically but I'm not 100 percent on that if u have a i2 sensor in the system it will probably adjust on its own but I get asked everywhere how I got my exhaust sounding like that
