New member here. I`ve been working on my son in laws Pcc scooter. It will start and rev when there's not a load on it but as soon as you jump on and get to half throttle it bogs out. I`ve cleaned the carb. Put a new carb. on took that off and cleaned it as well. Put a new fuel pump ,fuel filter and all new fuel lines on and made sure they were tight and not sucking air. New air filter, No air filter. Put a new cdi unit in. and took the exhaust off and made sure it was clear. Even charged the battery. I did manage to have it snap out of it for a ride around the block, Thought I had it licked . After I put everything back together It went back to bogging out Retraced everything a dozen times and just can`t figure out what's going on. Could it be a bad valve? If so why did it snap out of it for a short time. I welcome any help on this Please! Thank you in advance.

I`m thinking it`s maybe a bad ring or valve. Anyone else have thoughts on this??

I was thinking a sticking slide, but swapping carb and having the same thing tends to rule that out. When it bogs, can you 'finesse' the throttle to get past the bog? You mentioned a new fuel pump was installed, and it could be the needle and seat valve does not like so much pressure. On lawn tractor engines, the needle and seat specified are different for gravity fed and pump fed systems. The pump will produce higher pressure on the valve, so it is different in diameter(I think). Things not mentioned are the vacuum petcock and the fuel tank outlet screen. The petcock could be failing to allow enough fuel flow should it have a leaking diaphragm or a sticky valve. The fuel tank outlet fitting, included in a petcock in most cases, would have a factory installed plastic tube that was partially 'screen'.(Made of the tube plastic) If there was detritus in the tank, it could get gathered up at the outlet when fuel flow dragged it close, and tend to block outflow. Or the screen could be clogged, or the inlet to the petcock should the screen have been removed. In generaly, unloaded rpms require very little fuel. Once you add the load of moving the vehicle and the rider, a fuel flow increase is required. I suspect a blockage or restriction in fuel supply. If the bog is momentary, it could be the accelerator pump is clogged, but having two in a row is not likely. tom

Thanks for replying, I did replace the whole fuel system from the tank including the carburetor and all the lines petcock ... I did not do anything with the tank but I guess at this point it couldn't hurt to check it out. The problem is the same as it was before I changed out the Carb. so I don`t think the needle and seat is the problem. My local motorcycle shop told me to check the drive belt? I don`t know I`m running out of options.

Is this a 2t or a 4t scooter?

Is this a PCC Valentine 150? I had one at the shop I could never get to run right.
My best guess was something funky with the vacuum lines, as it didn’t seem to want to pull fuel. But we moved onto other projects.

Change the ignition coil. The mixture is to dense for it since it´s too weak.
