Hello everyone, new to the forum and wasn't able to find anything on my 50cc CPI city. It's a 2 stroke that I recently picked up to save on gas, currently I have changed the carb with a "tun'R red edition" carb that helped it run a lot more crisp and maybe helped get the top speed to 42mph, but I want more speed and torque for wheelies and Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on variator kits? Also intakes and reed setups. When I pulled the variator out to put in 1500Rpm clutch springs on everything said Jog90 which I know is a Yamaha 90cc scooter so just wondering if anyone knows much about these and has recommendations thanks and glad to part of the forum! Cheers

Unfortunately, just because CVT/clutch parts are marked "JOG90" it does not mean that it's a 90cc engine. Some of the Chinese Minarelli stuff is stamped that way on 49cc stuff. The best indications of an actual 90cc engine would be speed/power and engine number. A stock 90 in a reasonable state of tune should run around 50MPH on flat ground without a tailwind or anything, vs around 40MPH for a 50 and if you have been on the 49cc version you can tell the 90 is stronger accelerating. The engine number may reflect the bore size. 1E40... would indicate a 40mm bore of a 49cc. 1E50... or 1E52... would tell you that it should have a 50-52mm bore so it's around 90cc (also paired with a longer stroke crank if it is).
I would advise first finding out for sure if it's a 90. If it's not, which is my guess, then consider a big bore kit instead of a variator. A 70cc sport kit will give you much better torque/power and can still be very reliable. Variators can work well, but I'd always choose a 70 vs a vari if I wanted to add 1 mod.

If you want more torque for wheelies, there is nothing close to a big bore kit. An exhaust can make quite a difference. But it will move the power further up the rev range of you go for the more powerful pipes.

42 mph with a stock cylinder is pretty good
Whats you budget? If you were to do only one thing it would be a sport level cast iron 2 ring 70 cc kit. Malossi Sport, Polini Sport are very reliable and last for thousands of miles if installed and jetted right.
It would give you extra power every where and top speed and the stock transmission settings would work well.
