So recently i've been thinking about buying myself a 50cc bike. i've grown tired of dealing with CVT related problems and tuning and thought if that would be a viable option. My concern is that i might be too big for them as i am 6'3 and used to 250cc bikes. Ive been thinking of buying either a aprilia sx50, derbi senda, or a yamaha tzr50. I dont know witch of those three is the biggest or will i even be able to drive them comfortably.

I don't see why you couldn't ride bikes that size if you want to. I'm 6'2" and 300lb and I used to ride midbikes that were smaller than Honda Groms for hours. They came up to about my knee. The main thing that keeps me off of those now is that I'm nearly a couple of decades older and some crashes and life have done my joints no favors. The bikes listed should be nowhere near as compact and uncomfortable.
As far as power goes, if you're used to scoots then that shouldn't be an issue. They're gonna be more work to clutch and shift than larger bikes with lots of torque.
If you didn't want something specifically 50cc and like scoots, I can say that my experience with my TMAX 500 has been radically different than small scoots. I'd expect many larger scoot models to be similar. I changed my belt around 28,000 miles for the first time and it didn't even have to be done at that point. Gigantic CVTs designed for big machines aren't full of the headaches of tuned small engine CVTs. The tradeoff there is that, at least my TMAX, is such a pain to work on with all of it's panels and complexity that I have little desire to mess with it unless I have to. Not fun when you do have to do large maintenance tasks.

The TZR is not that big. It was really a mainly Japanese domestic market bike. There is probably not a lot of difference size wise between the Aprilia and Derbi. Though I think the Aprilia is slightly bigger. Things like the bar and let height will also make a difference. If you don't want to mess with tuning, you will still be stuck at 30mph, like the scooters.

Ty for the info.Im definetly gonna build mine. Im either gonna put a stage6 big racing 77cc cylinder on it or a malossi mhr80. I just know that most people who drive those are way shorter than i am and fit very comfortably on them so i didnt know if they really were a good fit for me.

The Derbi senda SM has a seat height of 875mm, about 34 1/2 inches so should be fine. You can buy complete tuning kits for these as well.

I am a big fan of Yamaha TZR50. I think it is a great bike and you can buy it for a great price. I have been riding mine for a few years now and it has been great. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a great bike.

The Yamaha TZR50 is an act of brilliant folly but tempting nevertheless.
