Hey Guys,
Something sorta strange just happened, so last night I removed the battery from my 05 Zuma, had to so I could lift the foot board to hook up my Tach/Temp gauge. I did put the battery on my “tender” but just to top it off in the meantime, meaning nothing was wrong with the electrical behavior beforehand.
SOOO… after finishing installing the gauge I put the plastics back on, I go to turn the key on, and nothing! No dash lights, tail lights, horn won’t honk, no blinkers, etc, literally acts like the battery is dead.
Before I spend hours troubleshooting… anyone know why before the battery pull all the things listed above powered on when the key was in the “on” position, and now they only work when running.
What could cause that?

Sounds like you might of blown the main fuse connecting the battery up.

Sounds like you might of blown the main fuse connecting the battery up. The one in the white plastic holder in the battery box? I looked at it and it looked ok, I will look closer with my probe. Or is there a different fuse you are talking about?

Yes the one near the battery Sure enough, I had checked it visually and it looked fine. Plus I hadn’t done any work on it, I just took the battery out. Guess I popped it some how. Thanks for the reminder of starting with the basics 👍
