Your cleaning and painting skills are exceptional. Looks like a great project restoring a classic. Thanks, I'm just trying to do things on a budget really. You can buy new panels, but they are expensive and this is very much a budget build. When it's finished I will use it as my commuter. My wife keeps on saying just get it done. It's only to ride to work. Don't worry about the looks!

With all the rust Paul did someone park it in the Solent for a while? 🙂 It's done 16,500 miles, so been round the block a few times.

Well I wasn't having a lot of luck today. I wanted to check the condition of the oil seal, and oil pump drive. The stator was a nightmare to get off. Even with the proper puller. As you can see from the picture, it flared the end of the crank. The old seal is bad too.

Did you gave the flywheel a small tap with a hammer when it was under tension? Thats usually works pretty good.

The centre stand was was so badly worn, it hit the CVT cover. I ordered another stand which took three weeks to arrive. Then was too short. So ended cutting out the mounts and getting fresh metal welded in for £30. Drilling out the old mounting rod as it's cast into the cases was a nightmare.

I think the last gen is a 4stroke 155cc and only for the asian market. Yeah it is. Nearly everything is trashed. It's cost me about £1,000 so far. And that's not including buying it. 🤦 I know the feeling, i’m getting my parts list compiled, and i think i’m already about the same in the hole…
