I have 2002 Yamaha Vino 50, mostly stock (muffler restrictor removed) and it goes like a scalded cat. However, the rear shock makes it pogo too much to enjoy top speed. Yamaha doesn't make the shock anymore, its not the same as later models, and no aftermarket options appear available. There are used ones on ebay, but I have little hope that they will perform better than the one I already have. Is there someone who I can send it to who rebuilds cheap little shocks like this? Or, does anyone know how to find a decent new one? Any other thoughts?
(Not mine, but same color, obviously has a nicer muffler, mine is stock)

Thanks for your reply! I'm assuming you are in Canada as that is where the dealer appears to be (I'm in the US now but am from Nova Scotia). I might try to see if I can order one to the US. Do you know the difference in height from stock? I haven't been able to find the specs and haven't wanted to take mine off the road to remove it and measure as of yet. Thanks again!

Scooter tuning deliver as quickly to the U.S. As others in the States. So don't let that put you off.

All of my orders from scootertuning.ca arrived faster than I would have thought, as quickly as if I had ordered it from any of the U.S. dealers. Aaand, if you browse the site while displaying the prices in Canadian dollars, it looks like you got a discount once you log in. Actually, it was aeroxbud that pointed them out to me. I had seen them before, but immediately dismissed them figuring it would be weeks before I saw my stuff. Yes, I've placed four orders there in the last two weeks.

The stock vino shock from center of hole to center of hole is 220 mm The 245 mm is the outer edge of what would work well. It does raise your seat up 1 inch . You could look at buying the low down shocks that are 215 to 225 mm but they are alot pricier .
I found better tires and this shock made a big difference on riding over bumps.
I order from alot of vendors . In todays world if they have it in stock is most important. I live in Wisconsin and I get my stuff from Scootertuning as fast if not faster than ordering from any Stateside supplier .

Thanks for the great info guys, I'll see what I can find!
Zino, do you notice the 1 inch much? My tires are slightly oversized anyways and I weigh #200, so maybe the 245 would be ideal?

Look up Yamaha Mint rear shocks. Forgot how they are called in the US. It's those tiny scooters with the non-cvt minarelli vertical engines.
edit: Yamaha SH50 Razz

I feel your pain. I managed to replace all three shocks on my Vino, it was very difficult finding anything. I managed to find a NOS rear, and replaced the front with a set just slightly longer. The rear is great now, but my front is a bit springy, but better than the old ones.
Thanks for all those that weighed in on this thread, insightful.
