trying to figure out why 50cc scoot doesnt have any lights or charging
stator ac reading while on yellow 20 - 60 jumping with throttle, white 20 - 60 jumping with throttle
rectifier dc - red 12.48v (should be reading 14-15v from what i have read)
ac - yellow 2.5 and white 11.3
Headlight wire loom has brown/white and 0v, blue 0v, white 2.8v and ground.
Does this mean the magneto and rectifier are working and no lights because of no active connection on wiring loom. And whould this point to why its also not chargin

Are you running it on the stand, or riding? It won’t charge on the stand.

its standing and i rev the engine via throttle but no indication it charges. I guess it makes sense to ride it and it should start charging but other videos show people standing the scoots and it readily charges at 14 to 15v without movin a bit.
I guess i can always recharge the battery or even use the kickstart but the lights are the main issue as without the battery i could still use the scoot but at night the lights are required.
Is there a way i can check for sure if the lights are AC or DC and if possible can i hardwire the lights to the battery ? or is that going to cause further issues ? thanks for the replies.

They should read the pretty much the same which telling me there must be a wire issue/short from the connection You measured 20-60v to the 2.5-11.3v. See if You temporary can replace white and yellow by taking two wires directly to the rectifier from the 20-60v point, that should tell You if those white and yellow is shorting.

wait that sounds exactly like whats going on once i get home it out, so just hard wire the yellow and white from the stator to the rectifier

i tried hard wiring the yellow and white strait from magneto to rectifier and its still the same, it seems its charging slowly but no lights at all what else can i do

i cant understand it too. it should be simple. Lights and charging carried out by stator in 2 wires yellow and white. FCurrent good from stator, current good on rectifier by hard wiring but charging at low volt and no lights. Il have to get a new magneto and check also il try check the light loom but cant find out the issue. Id say its shorting somewhere but either its in a place thats not accesible or in the loom itself. Il try with a new stator and let you know. thanks

What about your grounds? Is the engine grounded to the frame, headlight also, battery too??

thats very accurate "nothins wrong with it, so whats the complaint, oh that nothing on works it"
But the entire thing is grounded by 2 wires bolted onto the frame which then diverts into what i can only explain as a thousand wires of grounds.
Put a new magneto on it ensured all wires were connected properly but its the same thing. All wires cleaned and plugged in. All wires go into same coloured wires via plug connecters. Have now tried 3 rectifiers and this is the 3rd magneto. It shows nowhere near 14v charging but id settle for it if it charges slowly even if you cant see it. But the lights no front lights at all, i dont even think the dash lights up and there is no reg light. Only thing it does is slightly glow as if its on then that fades away within seconds also.
