Check this out. Believe it or not I'm holding down the throttle the whole time in the video. I think it's my ignition coil because this has all started since the coil came off the first time, and has been getting increasingly worse until now where I can't even ride it (Oh well it's raining anyways). Inside of the boot there is a little copper looking plug/screw with a clip around it to hold the spark plug nice and snug. That clip had broken on mine, so I made a new one with a paper clip. The paper clip was so tight that it was seriously difficult for me to put the boot on the sparkplug (nice and snug, right?) but I'm still getting intermittent sparking and the boot is still creeping off the spark plug. I say get a new boot. One that snaps on tight.
Verts gotts link around here somewere to a good one.

LB05EP is the NGK part # I've been using. That's for the tip of the plug attached, not the type that goes over the threads.

Thanks. I have a goped with a blown crank seal that i'm not worried about, might just use that boot. Wasn't sure if these things were fixable or not. I'm guessing it's pretty simple to wire up.

You could rebuild it completely and get it running, minus the frame. I have 2 spare engines, on top of 2 of almost everything you need to build one from scratch. |
