He is talking about 20KW electric power. Top speed around 120kph. Range 200km on eco mode @ 30mph. BUT, up until 80kph is is quicker than a Honda X-adv!!!!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=jcNWsiTVl0w

Cool build. It looks like a lot of fun. Those Honda x-adv are not that quick. It has the engine from the NC. They are a big bike heavy bike too. Would still have one though.

It has the engine from the NC. I was thinking about that the other day seeing all these ADV's flying through the streets lately here in Eindhoven. My mate owns a NC750x and I had to work on it and test ride it some time ago. Fun and comfortable bike for sure but like you said, not really that fast. But it's cool to see a cute little scooty scoot being able to keep up!

I honestly think electric could be a performance game changer in the future. Swapping out control units, battery packs and motors could be a simpler operation than petrol upgrades. Could easily make a 30mph scooter go 50 with only a couple of small changes. Perhaps only over riding the limiter put on by the manufacturer. Once we find out how to unlock this performance, and we will. It could be quite exciting. Some are quite cool looking too.

The ease of upgrade and speed (plus the lack of cool noises) makes the electric stuff boring to me. Plugging in electronics has never been exciting to me like getting out a degree wheel or a set of feeler gauges. It's cool that people are making their own custom electric projects though. No doubt, riding one of these hopped up e-bikes with gobs of torque is fun.

I used to feel the same. But after talking to a few people that have tried electric, I'm a bit more optimistic now. Though I might have to gently ease myself into it. Perhaps even get a four stroke first!

Also not to mention the tools and space required to make em go faster. People living in cities with no garages in their home to work in only need a computer and some basic tools. No mucking around with greasy stuff. Imagine the potential in countries like japan where gasonline powered vehicles are being heavily taxed.
Being totally realistic, for me electric vehicles make total sense. But I have the basic knowledge about 2t's to be able to work on em. I know nothing about EV's and will probably never do. But don't have a garage or workshop so in the end I cant really work on any of my vehicles myself. With these electric things you just have to pull some wires, hook up some relays and plug in a laptop and there you go!

Yes it will be a totally different way of tuning to getting the tools out and a file. Will be interesting to see the first electric scooter on the speed list!

Perhaps even get a four stroke first! Oh no! I'm gonna go make a necklace with a vial of two-stroke smoke and a bunch of reed petals to protect myself in case this plague spreads. electric vehicles make total sense. Exactly why they're no fun. 😆 I'll stick with ridiculous, aggressive and impractical. I think part of this is like the built vs bought stuff in car/bike culture. My Mustang ran 16s stock, mid-high 12s with an engine upgrade, and I'm not even sure after the turbo. A new Mustang GT could keep up with my old car on motor right off the showroom floor. Nice car, fun to drive, but I just don't care that much. It's stock. Anyone with money can buy one, it takes no skill or dedication. It's much the same if you can just bolt on and plug in a battery and controller on an existing electric vehicle. It's fast, but I just don't care. Let me see you modify a cylinder head, clearance a set of cases, tune a carb (I still can't figure that one out lol). This doesn't mean I don't see the beauty in something fast that doesn't require a lot of maintenance or skill. I just don't like the idea that easy and boring is the future of scooter tuning.

They're boring as hell. But practical as hell🙊 Though Id never do away my 2t dkw, my 2t tsx or my 2t axis. The gsx can go, easy. Its the fastest vehicle in my fleet but its just another basic run of the mill old 4t sportsbike. 140hp is fun but owning such a stock bike has no bragging rights in the farthest stretch of the meaning.
Gimme EV as a daily and the old smokey leaky stuff (that will get banned from the streets in the next couple of years) for the weekends.

I looked at EV scootering when I purchased the lambretta 4T ,I just couldn't,t find answers to the fundamental question of how much it cost to charge, life expectancy of the battery all shrouded in "go green " nonsense, maybe I didn't look hard enough Geoff
