Google has failed me… again.
Trying to find a reference as to what parts may be common to all sizes of GY6 engine/cvt. I’d like to know overall what parts are common but specifically today I’m wondering about the output shaft (rear axle) and if a complete 150cc wiring harness would fit in a 50cc and make it run properly.

Well, you could order a buncha parts, one for each size QMB, and see if they match or are different. I ordered parts from a store, GY6store... and they sent the wrong final drive gearbox, so I know those do not match. They were sort of obnoxious about returning the wrong part, on my dime, and slow to refund, FWIW. Back to the question, the best way is to look at part numbers for what you are concerned about. You can find listings on the web from individual manufacturers. i have found listings for different scooters based on their model, such as YY50-QT6. An example: www.motostop.eu/moto/JONWAY_Victoria_125_2017_SCOOTER/16195www.motostop.eu/moto/JONWAY_Victoria_50_2017_SCOOTER/16194 One is a 125, the other a 50. Chase down the YY- models and compare pasts listed tom

I think gearing parts are pretty different from a 50 to a 150 gy6 (but i dont feel like ripping everything apart to verify). A lot of it would depend on which chinese gy6 you're talking about too. The higher quality ones would likely be different and use less "off the shelf" size parts. Kymco gy6 engines are pretty different than the generic gy6 so arent as open to larger jugs and such.

wiscootsin I do not think Kymco, Yamaha, Honda, SYM make actual 139QMB specification engine/CVT/gearbox models. Their output may look like one, but I suspect that the only things that may be usable in either are common metric nuts, bolts, and other fasteners. You may be able to use a CDI, carburetor, common peripherals, but the internals and CVT parts are likely 'just a bit different' in many cases. I do think the China built are likely 100% swappable. One differentiator is the use of DC powered CDIs. In order to be allowed to manufacture, the makers must comply with the 'specification', and the model will be stamped into the serial number block. Just as Lifan and Zongshen and others make CG250 models, that are essentially duplicates in their dimensions, but likely a bit different in quality and parts sources, the 139QMB/GY6 engines are also duplicates, except for quality/parts source. Higher end models may use a bit better externals, and I am not sure they differe at all internally. Maybe better rings, step up ball bearings, a higher quality for seals in the higher end versions, but overall, likely almost all parts would swap. Just an opinion... No facts were injured in the making of this post, all were treated with courtesy. HA tom

the 07 kymco agility 50s that i had sure seemed like it. If you are sure they are 139QMB compatible, then order some parts and see how they fit. SYM/KYM seem to be very similar, but my take is they got 'real close', but when it comes down to it, I am not sure you could use a generic 139QMB BBK on a Kym/Sym 50cc 4T. I kinda think they meddled with little details so they are close, but just won't work. Of course, I could be wrong. Would not be the 1st time. tom
