Replaced petcock with valve. Disabled vaccuum. How do you check this choke? I've pulled it out? Then if you hook it to 12v direct, what should it do? It's spring loaded into it's orfice. I had the same engine. Double check the auto choke and make sure it’s working. Also with the vacuum petcock if you have any kinda bowl leak it’ll take a lot of kicking cranking to refill the bowl to enable starting. Should do this.

Mine is hanging out like that already and when I put it in it's slot on the carb...it's spring loaded in there. Maybe it's broke. Replaced petcock with valve. Disabled vaccuum. An auto enrichment should get longer as it heats up. It then blocks the port that's letting extra fuel in. If you power it up and nothing happens, it's not working. Is yours a manual choke with a cable?

No it looks exactly like the one in the video...but when I pull it off the carb, that bottom part with the needle springs out. An auto enrichment should get longer as it heats up. It then blocks the port that's letting extra fuel in. If you power it up and nothing happens, it's not working. Is yours a manual choke with a cable?

Sounds like it's broken then. You can buy replacements.

Ok updated intermittent problem and maybe it still ties back to enricher.
Take mind it's cold here in Texas...if that even matters...
The scooter starts and idles fantastic. If I ever experience any problem, it's when it idles down from riding or initial takeoff from starting.
The first 1/4th throttle triggers a bog. If it don't push it, it'll recover. And if I feather it or bump it up and down subtly, it'll catch and go. When it goes, it runs strong and great. And sometimes it doesn't give much issue.
Seems to be exaggerated if I let it sit 1-2 days and/or when it's cold outside.
The problem isny always but often...but 1/4th to WOT is never a problem.
I ordered a #60 pilot jet...mine right now is 57.5
I guess I could try adjusting the needle?
Carbs are cheap...maybe a new carb?

If the enricher needs changing your probably best with a new cheapo carb, but it,s a crap shoot as to which one you get . Geoff

I have noticed also that the top of the slide and needle...my carb never had a gasket. How big of a deal is this? If the enricher needs changing your probably best with a new cheapo carb, but it,s a crap shoot as to which one you get . Geoff

Make absolutely sure theres a gasket there. DONT USE RTV!

Well I adjusted the carb needle to be two notches more rich and now I have zero problems.
The needle typically correlates with 1/4 - 3/4 throttle.
I'm guessing if it's too lean it can trickle down effect to initial acceleration?
