i did the same exact thing, i had problems at the beginning of winter just recently so i stored it in my aunts garage over winter, and these past few days ive been spending a few hours tinkerin with it and heres what i came across, oh it was so aggravating
first off i took my air filter off cause it was wet on the end so i had to clean, dry it etc, then checked my spark plug, it was black on the end, and i didnt have any carb clean so i got a new ngk, still didnt do anything although could of been a small part of my problem, so i checked the battery, it just so happens the battery itself was bulging from all sides, i know right lol, well got that replaced, still didnt fix the problem, it would still just crank as if there was no spark, so i took my plug out and tested for spark, there was a short from one of the wires plugged in at the cdi, so i fixed that, and decided to clean my whole carb while i was at it and adjust the valves aswell, finally after all that i got it fired up, but it was quite louder than normal, so my next thought from the sound and vibration is was coming from near the variator, so i took that off and i had ordered the 70 dollar performance one from scrappy, and the cover part that you put over the sliders/rollers was cracked in 3 different places, so i put my old variator back on, got it all back together, and finally got everything tightened down, fires up like brand new, and is as quiet as when i got it, and it has about 3800 miles on it, so you might wanna try everything i just did, took me 3 days to get it runnin like new but i think if you just go over all those things and see where that leads you, if not than you prolly have something farther that i havent run in to yet, but best of luck to you
